Recreation Complex for Foreign workers

Foreign workers living in Jurong west will soon be able to enjoy a recreation complex coming up the end of the year.

The complex Located in Soon Lee Road will have the following facilities: football field, an amphitheatre for ethnic movies, multi-purpose sports courts, postal & remittance facilities, a beer garden, a medical station, a canteen, a supermarket with ethnic foods and lots of open spaces.

As Population of foreign workers here went up by 102,000 this year, housing them is become a problem as well. There's 4 ways to house them:

  • Residental housing
  • On-site living
  • Purpose-built dorm
  • Factory-converted dorm

Cut in COE by 9.6%, Price of COE went up

LTA (Land Transport Authority) cut the overall supply of COE by 9.6% to 8730 COE per month.

LTA said it was to reduce the number of COE for 'small cars, goods vehicles, buses and motorcycles' as they were fewer of these vehicle been scrapped than estimated.

COE prices ended higher yesterday as the previous tender's price slump sent buyers flocking to showrooms.
